About Me

About me

I have a son who is 11, his name is Rawhiti Te Rerenga Kotuku Aperahama Williams, my love, my life. My wife is Kim Reina Reremoana Williams, she is my breath, my beating heart.

I speak Maori fluently, speak Pakeha (English) fluently, re-educate Pakeha in my library to assist them to better understand the stance of Maori that follow Tino Rangatiratanga, and that they too have Tino Rangatiratanga in their own Pakeha context. I'm an advocate for Maori rights and sovereignty. I belong to Ngati Pukenga and Ngati Maru iwi, and Ngati Pu hapu, and I come from a place called Hauraki, Pakeha call it the Coromandel Peninsula. I currently live in Hamilton, named after a Pakeha General killed in a battle with my ancestors at Pukehinahina or as the Pakeha call it, the battle of Gate Pa. So Hamilton was the name they gave to the city I live in, the original name was Te Koopu Mania o Kirikiriroa "The expansive warm womb of the great sands" The iwi that had mana whenua on this land is called Ngati Wairere, the mana that they hold there now is token in comparision of what mana they had before the arrival of the Pakeha. I have many Pakeha friends, and I don't consider any Pakeha to be the problem, it is the shit that they have been taught, the lies and untruths about why Maori want sovereignty, not to kick them out, but to determine our owm futures under our own context, Maori context, under Maori tikanga. Continue resisting the incursions of mainstream thought and discourse that we are all 'one' people. In Aotearoa (New Zealand) there are the mainstream people that would like to push ideals of 'one law, one nation' sounds like the poster slogan of the Nazi Party huh? So I resist that notion of one people. I like the idea of working together to achieve goals, but not the idea of assimulation into a culture that is at odds to the teachings of my ancestors.

Continue resisting racism in any form, resisting neo-colonialism.

Matemateaone : May 26, 2007

Kaore he mea kei tua atu i te matemateaone i waenganui i te whanau. Te aroha a tetahi ki tetahi i waenganui i te whanau.  Ko toku reo rangatira me ona tikanga e kawe nei i a au me aku mahi katoa, me aku ahuatanga katoa. Ta te mea, he momo no Tuawhakarere, he mapihi maurea i takea mai i te orokohanga o te Ao.  No Ngati Pukenga tenei tangata e korero ake nei i te taha o toku papa, i te taha o toku whaea, no Ngati Pu.  Anei he hononga-a-ipurangi nei ki nga paetukutuku nei o oku iwi.
